Used Car Lot

Shiny things that move get my attention. These rainbow colored tassels over a used car lot in Richmond, catch my eye every time I drive by. They won’t make me buy the car but they do signal the idea that this is a fun place to spend my money if I were to buy a used car.

During my last year in high school, I spent a summer working for a used car business in New Jersey, called the Horseless Carriage. The owner spent absolutely no money on adornment to signal drivers as they sped by on the roadway. Their shiny things were newspaper, bold print big discount ads. It’s also the place where I bought my first car; a brown Dotson B210.
